When it comes to chocolate, my hands down favorite chocolate confection has to be the Perugina Baci. Each delicious Baci consists of dark chocolate which envelopes a heart of gianduia (creamy blend of chocolate and hazelnut cream) dotted with more chopped hazelnuts and then topped with one whole hazelnut. We recently took our entire family, all eleven of us in fact, to the Perugina Scuola del Ciocolato (Perugina School of Chocolate) for a cooking class. Having your own pizza oven in the backyard certainly encourages you to make pizza at home more often, and although I have a number of favorite pizza topping combinations, every once in a while I want to try something new. One of the first things on my wish list when we bought our property here in Umbria was to plant fruit trees and for our second season here we planted two different varieties each of apples, plums, peaches, and figs. It has taken a few years, but our trees are now producing gorgeous fruit for us, and since my kitchen window over the sink overlooks my trees, I have been watching them since we arrived the end of April anxiously waiting for the fruit to ripen.
