Hello Italian Food Forever Friends!

The countdown is on, and though it is difficult to believe, we have just over a week before Christmas! My family begins to arrive the end of this week, and by Christmas morning we will have a full house. Christmas is one holiday I love to spend at home with family, and I decorate my house from top to bottom, and bake up a storm.

I believe the holiday season should be spent reconnecting with family and friends, so I will be enjoying time with my kids and grandkids, and will do my best to stay off the computer. My family loves food, and we love to cook together, so I have plans on creating some delicious new recipes that I will share on the blog after Christmas.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, and a prosperous and healthy New Year!

Feast Of The Seven Fishes
Some of the most delicious traditions come from Italian homes during the holidays. Apart from the many religious traditions, this is the time each year when celebration foods are prepared and families gather together to enjoy this special season. One of the most famous traditions followed each Christmas is the one for La Vigilia, or the Feast Of Seven Fishes which is celebrated on Christmas Eve. Read More......

freshtomarugulapasta

Spaghetti With Fresh Tomato Sauce, Arugula, & Shaved Pecorino Cheese
I first tasted this pasta dish at a trattoria and rosticeria in Marsciano, a small town close to our farmhouse that is much more famous for its roasted and grilled meats than it is for its pasta dishes. One taste though and it was love at first bite, and I've made this dish many times myself at home ever since. This dish epitomizes Umbrian country cooking at its best, and the hot spaghetti is dressed with a fresh, sweet tomato sauce that is then topped with peppery arugula and shaved cheese. An Italian Christmas
I've just returned from almost two weeks away visiting family up north, and now that Thanksgiving is over my thoughts are on Christmas. Of all the holidays we celebrate each year, Christmas is my favorite one, and I love to decorate my house from top to bottom, spoil my family with gifts, and bake up a storm. Though I normally reserve most of my baking for our Umbrian farmhouse guests, at Christmas I bake at least a dozen types of cookies that I share with family and friends, some family favorite sweet breads, and many other holiday treats. I love having my family home for the holidays, and since we all love to cook, my kitchen is always the busiest room in the house. Read More......
