 We usually make pizza at least once a week in our pizza oven, but I also like to use my pizza dough for other oven baked treats to serve as snacks or for light lunches.  Now that the weather has changed and the temperatures are finally dropping, I am thoroughly enjoying taking early morning walks through the Umbrian countryside around our farmhouse property. The scenery is always stunning as the morning light falls across the lush green rolling hills, and I often see wildlife in the fields or forested areas along my route.  Every Sunday we take the day off and travel around Umbria by car, sometimes to visit local antique markets, other times to take a leisurely drive through the mountains, and often we even plan our day’s activities around where we’d like to eat lunch.  While we are in Umbria for six months each year, I tend to do a lot of baking as I try and take our farmhouse guests some new baked treat every couple of days.
